The lack of professionalism and dishonesty of some staff members. Some examples below: 1) I called to ask how much it would cost from Wadi Rum to the hotel and was quoted for 80JD (we asked at the camp and they said it should cost 30-35JD). Later, Mohammad at reception quoted us 110JD from Aqaba to the Dead Sea and said he could get us a ‘good deal’ at 80JOD claiming to have called the 'chief of taxis'. He told us we shouldn’t have a problem paying a higher amount because we are ‘rich’. As we had previously hired a private driver for a similar distance and were misquoted in the morning by Aqaba Tulip Hotel, we weren’t convinced and asked other drivers and were quoted for 60JD. 2) They have double standards for their 'Western' guests and locals. I don't mean only in trying to get as much money out of us as possible e.g. when we went to the pool, the lifeguard came over to explain the rules to us and that we couldn't go in the water with our trousers etc (this was never the plan, we had swimsuits) BUT later on, a local guest went into the pool fully clothed (I mean t-shirt and leggings) not Islamic bathing suits. The life guard let her stay in the pool. 3) At reception (a person who we thought was a member of staff) approached the desk and started tapping her fingers on it. Mohammad ignored her. We thought this was odd because when she went away my friend asked who that was and Mohammad responded, ‘don't worry, just another guest but you are more important’. Later, when we came back to the hotel again, he said he spoke to his friend at a nearby caffe and invited us to get a drink there. We declined and he insisted, saying it would be rude to turn him down. He wouldn’t take no for an answer and said if we don’t go now, we should go the next day. 4) Members of staff kept asking us for a review, whether we would give them 10/10 and if we could leave out the fact that they tried to overcharge us for taxis.

The room is pretty spacious, it was clean and full of amenities. Staff is kind and helpful.

Obiviously the hotel is a bit old, so facilities are a bit run down. Dont expect it brand new. Breakfast has options, but it needs more staff attention as to what they put on the buffet.

We were moved to mena hotel as the golden was under maintenance It was the greatest service i ever had A great guest service from miss taqwa alqodah I really appreciate their service And very nice hotel with the best sea view and city view

Manager skilled in English Mrs. Serena had very professional approach. I really appreciated her proposal of giving us packed breakfast. Reception with knwoledge about the attraction that the city provide's the tourists with and free parking space.

The coffee wasn't good, bad taste.

I enjoyed my stay, it was comfortable, even it’s a small property but clean, location is strategic
